About Our Farm

WestCreek Farm lies on 74 acres in the Alhambra Valley, a unique rural landscape surrounded by East Bay suburbs. Mild climate and a lush variety of native plants makes it an ideal location to raise goats in all seasons.

We raise our dairy goats primarily for the purpose of providing dairy products for our immediate and extended family. We breed quality Nigerian Dwarf Goats with the goal of developing lines of excellent milkers with foundational health which enables them to kid easily, raise their babies on their own, and be disease resistant. We believe that both genetics and good nutrition are the keys to strong immune systems and having low stress animals which require less human intervention. Because we are drinking the milk from our goats (and making cheese!) we avoid using any medications or other chemical inputs in our herd.

We hand milk our goats so we select for traits that make hand milking quick and easy: good teat and orifice size, udders that milk out completely, and goats that don't have drama on the milk stand. We also are working hard to breed goats that maintain great production on once a day milking.

And lastly, we love color! We have deliberately selected the color palate of our small Nigerian herd (both dominant and recessive genes) so that we have a wide variety of color patterns in the kids we sell. We have lots of moonspots and blue eyes and recently added a silver buck to our herd.
